The Member representing Etsako Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Anamero Dekeri, has sponsored a specialized automotive skills development training programme designed to equip youths and automotive technicians with advanced technical skills in the maintenance and servicing of heavy-duty vehicles.
The training, which focuses particularly on heavy-duty vehicles and agricultural tractors, is aimed at strengthening the technical capacity of participants and creating new opportunities for employment, entrepreneurship, and economic self-reliance.
The five-day programme is being held at the NABTEC Headquarters in Benin City from Monday, August 10 to Friday, August 21, with training sessions commencing daily at 10:00 a.m.
Participants are being exposed to specialized knowledge and practical skills relevant to the operation, maintenance, servicing, and repair of heavy-duty automotive equipment. The inclusion of agricultural tractors also provides participants with skills that can support Nigeria’s growing agricultural and mechanized farming sector.
The initiative reflects Hon. Anamero Dekeri’s continued commitment to youth empowerment through practical and market-relevant skills. By investing in specialized technical training, the programme seeks to move beneficiaries beyond conventional employment opportunities and equip them with capabilities that can translate into sustainable careers and businesses.
Heavy-duty vehicles play an important role in transportation, construction, logistics, agriculture, and other critical sectors of the economy.
